Kansas City Civic Orchestra — 2025–2026 Season Auditions
The Kansas City Civic Orchestra invites string players to audition for the upcoming 2025–2026 concert season. We welcome musicians who are passionate, committed, and eager to perform exciting repertoire in a supportive community orchestra setting.
Positions Available:
Associate Concertmaster,
first violin section,
second violin section,
viola section
cello section
bass section
Audition Date:
Saturday, August 16, 2025
Location: Atonement Lutheran Church
9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212
Section Audition Requirements:
- Preparation of a solo piece or excerpt (no longer than 3 minutes)
- Sight-reading will be provided on the day of the audition
- No accompanist is require

The Kansas City Civic Orchestra is a community-based ensemble made up of nearly 80 dedicated volunteer musicians, including professionals, teachers, students, and skilled amateurs. Our season includes dynamic repertoire, acclaimed guest artists, and a collaborative, artistically driven environment.
Audition Schedule:
- Violin: 11:00 AM
- Viola: 12:00 PM
- Cello & Bass: 12:45 PM
Other Information:
- Auditions are not blind
- Please arrive early enough to have ample time to check-in/warm-up
- Memorization is not required for your solo selection
- All registered auditions will be contacted after the registration deadline of August 13th, 2025.

Being a Musician with KCCO The Kansas City Civic Orchestra is entering its 65th concert season. Each member of the orchestra is a volunteer musician. Our musicians come from all different areas of the greater Kansas City region and have diverse vocational backgrounds. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, and the orchestra gives approximately five concerts between September and May. Each musician is expected to attend and prepare for all rehearsals/concerts and play at their highest ability. KCCO musicians take pride in the orchestra’s high-quality performa
